  • Handling a diverse portfolio of work, developing client exposure, and essential business skills.
  • Preparing client communications, presentations, reports, and attending meetings with clients.
  • Developing project plans and inputting into budget setting.
  • Building good working relationships with clients and third parties.
  • Checking actuarial calculations, such as reconciliation cashflows from insurers and assessing insurer price quotations.
  • Supporting proposition development and new business opportunities.
  • Mentoring and supporting less experienced team members, reviewing their work as needed.
  • Ensuring client invoices are completed timely, adhering to internal procedures.
  • Carrying out proper work scoping at the outset.
  • Communicating relevant information to the wider client team.
  • Maintaining rigorous, accurate, and methodical work practices.
  • Keeping comprehensive audit trails.
  • Planning work to meet deadlines.
  • Tracking work status according to procedures.
  • Presenting work clearly to clients and colleagues.
  • Liaising with client managers over conflicting demands.
  • Collaborating with colleagues on technical or client matters.
  • Recording time accurately against client, matter, and job codes.
  • Adhering to firm’s information security policies.

Qualifications and skills needed:

  • Excellent interpersonal and client relationship skills.
  • Strong project management and organizational abilities.
  • Effective communication and consulting skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple demands.
  • Ability to coordinate activities and delegate effectively.
  • Motivated to develop an actuarial career in a client-focused environment.
  • Proactive in developing consultancy and management skills.
  • Associate or Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, or equivalent, with relevant risk transfer and bulk annuity experience, is preferred but not essential.
  • Relevant pensions experience and understanding of UK pension scheme legislation, bulk annuity transactions, and buy-out processes.
  • Solid grounding in actuarial and computer techniques.

We welcome applications from candidates who may not meet all attributes but are competent in most areas and can develop additional skills with our support.

Additional benefits include:

  • Flexible employee benefits packages.
  • Supportive and collaborative work environment.
  • On-site mental health and wellbeing support.
  • Opportunities for personal and professional development, including mentoring and access to learning portals.
  • Regular social activities, volunteering leave, and birthday leave.
  • Hybrid working model with two in-office days per week.
