This is a Temporary, Full-Time vacancy that will close in 25 days at 23:59 BST.

We’re seeking an enthusiastic Senior Press Officer to join our in-house PR team for a 12-month maternity cover contract. The role is within an energetic, integrated marketing team of 29, collaborating closely with digital, social media, marketing, and design experts to deliver integrated campaigns. Ensuring alignment between PR, social media, and marketing activities is key. The role reports to the Head of External Communications and works alongside another Senior Press Officer and a Junior Press Officer. The successful candidate can be based in London, Glasgow, or Edinburgh, benefiting from a hybrid work approach that combines home and office work with opportunities for travel across offices.

What will your role look like?

You will work across all firm areas, primarily focusing on developing and executing PR campaigns to support our pensions business. Liaising with senior spokespeople is essential, and there will be opportunities to contribute ideas, take responsibility, and develop skills in a supportive environment. Your responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing PR campaigns through various communication channels and managing a busy in-house press office.
  • Delivering integrated campaigns with multidisciplinary teams to support business development.
  • Managing the press office, responding to media inquiries, and maintaining media relationships.
  • Developing PR plans for specific firm services and activities.
  • Managing and liaising with spokespeople and experts within the firm.
  • Building media and influencer relations, leveraging existing contacts and cultivating new ones.
  • Monitoring industry trends and legislative changes, and working with public affairs to identify news opportunities.
  • Drafting press releases, commentary, social media posts, articles, blogs, and campaign collateral.
  • Coordinating media monitoring, measurement, and analysis.
  • Managing the online media centre and policy hub.
  • Supporting spokespeople with media training and interview briefings.

To succeed, you will have:

  • Proven experience in developing PR ideas and executing communication campaigns.
  • Passion and experience in media and PR within financial services.
  • Understanding of social media campaigns.
  • Strong media relationships.
  • Knowledge of political and regulatory landscapes (beneficial).
  • Excellent attention to detail and writing skills.
  • Ability to quickly understand complex topics and craft engaging content.
  • Confidence in pitching stories to various media outlets.
  • Proactive, collaborative attitude, capable of managing internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • A team-oriented mindset.
