We’re looking for a compassionate and experienced Hairdresser to join our care home team covering a period of maternity leave, where you’ll provide high-quality hairdressing and nail care services to our wonderful residents. Location and Details
- Location: Hyllden Heights, 140 Tonbridge Road, Hildenborough, Tonbridge TN11 9HJ
- Hours: 35 hours per week
- Pay: £14.49 per hour
- Contract: Full-time/Maternity Cover
- Shift: Days
Responsibilities
- Hairdressing services, including washing, cutting, styling, and setting.
- Gentle treatments suitable for elderly hair and sensitive scalps.
- Basic nail care, including nail trimming, shaping, filing, buffing, and applying nail polish where appropriate.
- Work sensitively with residents who may have mobility issues, dementia, or other care needs.
- Maintain excellent hygiene and infection control standards.
- Keep work areas clean, tidy, and well organised.
- Help create a warm, friendly atmosphere where residents feel valued and pampered.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Qualified or experienced hairdresser (NVQ or equivalent preferred).
- Essential experience with nail care.
- Experience working with older people or in a care setting (desirable, but not essential).
- A patient, kind, and professional manner.
- Reliable, flexible, and able to work independently.
- Strong knowledge of health, safety, and hygiene practices.
