About the Company

Our client is a leading construction company and one of the fastest-growing contractors in the UK, with an established reputation for delivering high-quality social housing and new build residential schemes across the West Midlands and beyond. As a result of continued, sustained growth, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team, working from their Wolverhampton office alongside regular time on site.

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in construction, social housing, and new build projects to join a business that is genuinely growing and can offer a clear long-term career path. You will split your time between the Wolverhampton office and project sites across the region, working closely with site teams, clients, and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered on budget and to programme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all commercial and financial aspects of social housing and new build projects from pre-construction through to final account.
  • Prepare and agree interim valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts with clients and subcontractors.
  • Procure, negotiate, and manage subcontractor packages, including measuring and valuing work completed.
  • Produce accurate cost reports, forecasts, and cash flow projections, identifying and managing commercial risk.
  • Carry out site measurements and valuations, liaising closely with site management teams.
  • Manage variations, change control, and contractual correspondence in line with the relevant form of contract.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners.
  • Support the wider commercial team and contribute to the continued growth of the business.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience working as a qualified Quantity Surveyor.
  • Proven experience within the construction industry, with specific exposure to social housing and new build projects.
  • A relevant degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • MRICS or working towards chartered status is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong commercial and contractual awareness, including knowledge of JCT and/or NEC forms of contract.
  • Confident, proactive communicator, comfortable liaising with clients, site teams, and subcontractors.
  • Willingness and ability to work flexibly between the Wolverhampton office and various sites across the West Midlands.
  • Full UK driving licence required.
