As the business continues to grow, they are now looking to appoint a highly experienced Plumbing Estimator to join their pre-construction team, working office-based from their Walsall headquarters.

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly experienced mechanical/plumbing estimator to join a busy and growing pre-construction team.

Based full-time in the Walsall office, you will be responsible for producing accurate, competitive estimates for plumbing and mechanical installation works, working closely with the wider commercial and design teams to secure new business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed, accurate cost estimates for plumbing and mechanical installation works across a range of construction projects.
  • Take off quantities from drawings and specifications to produce competitive tender submissions.
  • Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations, ensuring best value on materials and labour.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and internal design teams to clarify scope and technical requirements.
  • Identify commercial and technical risks within tender documentation and factor these into estimates.
  • Support the handover of successful bids to the delivery and commercial teams.
  • Maintain accurate records of pricing, historical data, and market rates to inform future estimates.
  • Contribute to the continued growth of the business by supporting an increasing volume of tender opportunities.

Requirements

  • Highly experienced within mechanical/plumbing estimation in the construction sector.
  • Proven track record of producing accurate estimates and tender submissions for plumbing and mechanical works.
  • Strong technical knowledge of plumbing and mechanical systems and installation methods.
  • Confident using take-off and estimating software, along with strong Excel skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills, comfortable liaising with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Happy to be based full-time in the office in Walsall or the surrounding area.
