Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8.00am – 5.00pm (Office based)

About Us

We are a well-established, leading construction company based in Wolverhampton, currently operating from a brand new, modern office. As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an organised and reliable Accounts Assistant / Admin to join our finance team.

About the Role

This is a varied role combining accounts processing with general administrative support. The successful candidate will play a key part in our finance function, with particular responsibility for the accurate and timely processing of our weekly payroll for approximately 600 staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inputting and processing weekly payroll data for circa 600 employees, ensuring accuracy and deadlines are met
  • Checking and validating timesheets prior to payroll submission
  • Processing purchase and sales invoices
  • Assisting with bank reconciliations and general ledger entries
  • Dealing with supplier and subcontractor queries
  • Filing, scanning, and maintaining accurate financial and administrative records
  • Providing general administrative support to the finance and office team
  • Answering telephone and email queries in a professional manner
  • Supporting month-end processes as required

About You

  • Previous experience in an accounts assistant, payroll, or finance admin role is desirable
  • Experience with payroll input/processing would be a strong advantage
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly when working with high volumes of data
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Office
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Able to work well as part of a team and manage a busy workload
  • CIS and/or construction industry experience is beneficial but not essential
