Part-time with optional additional holiday work Saturdays and/or Sundays from 10am to 8pm. Approx. £13ph depending on experience.

We are recruiting Activity Leaders to work at weekends in a small, therapeutic children’s home. This role is about energy, consistency and connection.

The Role:

The weekend activity leader role provides additional staffing capacity alongside activity-focused and engaging support within the home at weekends. The role is designed to enhance children’s experiences through structured, engaging activities while supporting safety, consistency and emotional regulation.

What you will be doing:

  • Lead and support structured, purposeful activities for children, both in the home and in the community. This might include being outdoors, cooking, games, crafts, music, sport or simply doing something purposeful together.
  • Bring personal interests, hobbies or skills into activity planning in an appropriate and engaging way.
  • Support children to participate safely in activities that promote enjoyment, confidence and routine.
  • Work alongside experienced staff at all times and follow their direction.
  • Contribute to a calm, predictable and safe environment.
  • Support children with transitions into and out of activities.
  • Maintain clear professional boundaries at all times.
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and report concerns immediately.
  • Complete a short activity log at the end of each shift.

Desirable:

  • Experience working with children or young people, paid or voluntary

Other Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS clearance.
  • Full driving licence. You must be confident driving children as part of activities. The home vehicle will be available for use but if you use your own vehicle for work purposes, mileage will be reimbursed in line with policy.
  • To ensure the health and safety of the children under our care, candidates who are non-smokers are preferred.

Length of commitment:

We are looking for individuals who can commit for one to two years, providing consistency for children and stability within the team. Additional paid shifts may be available during school holidays.
