We’re hiring an experienced Mechanical / Structural / Marine Engineer to lead the design and structural development of advanced marine systems. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in high-performance environments and has deep expertise in classification-led marine structural design, analysis, and approval.
What You’ll Bring
- Degree in Naval, Mechanical, Structural, or Marine Engineering
- 5–10 years’ experience designing marine structures for class approval
- Strong 3D modelling and parametric design experience
- Proficiency in Siemens NX, Autodesk Inventor, or similar CAD tools
- Expertise in structural analysis, including FEA and hand calculations
- Proven ability to translate complex load cases into validated structural designs
- Experience working directly with classification societies (DNV, LR, NK, etc.)
- Strong understanding of DFMA, structural integrity, and manufacturability
- Solution-oriented mindset with the ability to work in fast-paced environments
Nice to Have
- Experience with fatigue, buckling, and large welded structures
- Exposure to aero-structural or performance-led structural systems
- Model validation using real-world test data
- Knowledge of structural testing, validation, and manufacturing methods
What You’ll Do
As Principal Design Engineer, you’ll lead subsystem design from concept through validation, ensuring performance, compliance, and manufacturability. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading mechanical and structural design activities across critical subsystems
- Owning wing geometry development and structural optimisation
- Developing load cases across operational and classification scenarios
- Defining structural design philosophy and compliance strategy
- Performing and overseeing structural analysis and verification
- Improving in-house structural analysis tools and methods
- Leading technical engagement with classification societies
- Acting as the go-to expert for stress and fatigue analysis
