Overview We are seeking a Technical Project Assistant / Junior Technical Project Manager to support the delivery of a large and complex data centre exit and infrastructure migration programme , involving the move out of two existing data centres.This role is ideal for someone with 1–3 years\’ experience in a technical IT environment who is looking to transition into project management . You will work closely with Project Managers, Solution Designers, and Service Owners to coordinate activities, track progress, and support technical migration planning across multiple workstreams.The client expectation is two days per week on site, with the remainder remote.Key Responsibilities Provide day-to-day support to Project Managers delivering a large infrastructure migration programmeAssist with coordination activities across multiple migration workstreamsTrack actions, dependencies, risks, and issues related to migration activitiesJira, Confluence & Documentation Manage and update Jira tickets related to migration tasks and activitiesMaintain and update Confluence migration pages, ensuring documentation is accurate and up to dateSupport reporting on progress, blockers, and upcoming activities using Jira and Confluence dataMigration Planning & Coordination Coordinate meetings and workshops with service owners and technical teams to:Understand as-is architecture and dependenciesAgree migration plans and timelinesAssist Project Managers in preparing migration schedules and activity plansTechnical Analysis & Data Handling Support Solution Designers with as-is analysis of existing environmentsProvide analysis on lists of servers to be migrated, including validation of server details and ownershipUpdate the programme tracking tool with server status, milestones, and readiness indicatorsGovernance & Change Control Track and chase change approvals required for migration activitiesEnsure change records are raised, updated, and approved in line with governance and change control processesSupport adherence to programme controls, delivery standards, and reporting requirementsRequired Skills & Experience 1–3 years\’ experience in a technical IT role or IT-focused department (e.g. infrastructure support, systems administration, IT operations, application support)Strong understanding of IT environments, particularly servers, infrastructure, and enterprise systemsStrong business analysis and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret technical data and translate it into clear insightsAdvanced Microsoft Excel and data analysis skills, including data manipulation, filtering, pivot tables, and reportingExperience analysing and maintaining large data sets, ensuring accuracy and consistencyStrong experience using Jira, including managing and updating Jira tickets, tracking progress and dependencies, and reporting on Jira activities, status, and trendsExperience maintaining documentation in Confluence (or similar collaboration tools)Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detailConfident written and verbal communication skills, particularly with technical stakeholdersExposure to data centre, infrastructure, or cloud migration projectsFamiliarity with ITIL-based change management or formal change control processesExperience working alongside Solution Designers or ArchitectsEntry-level project management qualification or working towards one (e.g. PRINCE2 Foundation, AgilePM, CAPM)Personal Attributes Proactive and comfortable chasing actions and approvalsAnalytical and methodical, with a strong attention to detailAble to manage multiple workstreams and prioritiesEager to develop a career in project managementComfortable working in a structured, governance-driven programme environmentSeniority level AssociateEmployment type ContractJob function Project ManagementIndustries: IT Services and IT ConsultingReferrals increase your chances of interviewing at Hyerhub by 2xLondon, England, United Kingdom — content updated periodically
