Position overview

As HR Business Partner for Hydroscand UK, you will play a pivotal role in driving the people agenda across the business. You will be responsible for delivering strategic and operational HR support, ensuring alignment with business goals while fostering a high performance, values driven culture. This role requires a proactive, hands on HR professional who can balance strategic thinking with day to day execution.

Key Responsibilities

Core HR Functions

  • Provide expert HR guidance and support to managers and employees across all branches.
  • Ensure compliance with UK employment legislation and company policies.
  • Manage employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, and performance issues.

Onboarding & Offboarding

  • Own and continuously improve the onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure a smooth and professional experience.
  • Conduct exit interviews and analyse feedback to inform retention strategies.

Training & Development

  • Develop and maintain training schedules across departments.
  • Support the creation and implementation of Personal Development Plans (PDPs).
  • Coordinate internal and external training initiatives to support employee growth.

Performance & Engagement

  • Lead the Appraisal Process System, ensuring consistency, fairness, and alignment with business objectives.
  • Manage the Great Place to Work Survey process, including communication, analysis, and action planning.
  • Champion employee engagement initiatives and support a positive workplace culture.

Recruitment & Retention

  • Manage end to end recruitment processes, including job design, advertising, interviewing, and onboarding.
  • Develop and implement retention strategies to reduce turnover and improve employee satisfaction.
  • Support succession planning by identifying talent and development opportunities.

HR Systems & Reporting

  • Act as the UK lead for CatalystOne, our HR platform ensuring data accuracy, reporting, and system optimisation.
  • Maintain HR metrics and dashboards to support decision making and strategic planning.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Support organisational change and development initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Group HR and other country HR teams as needed.
  • Lead or contribute to HR related projects and initiatives.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all HR matters.

Main Accountabilities / Activities

  • Translate business needs into actionable HR activities.
  • Collaborate with business units using HR tools and processes.
  • Use data analytics for reporting and decision making.
  • Support managers in people development and organisational design.
  • Follow up on engagement surveys and drive change.
  • Support compensation and benefits queries.
  • Manage monthly payroll via Payroll Provider.
  • Ensure compliance with global HR policies.
  • Lead or contribute to HR projects.
  • Administrative follow up (e.g., medical visits, contracts).
  • Frequent travel within the UK.

Qualifications

  • 2 years minimum in a similar role

Desirable

  • CIPD qualified or working towards.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, engineering, or service-based industry.
  • Familiarity with employee engagement frameworks and survey tools.
