A fantastic new opportunity has arisen to join the Smart Water Services division and support the installation of network sensors. This is a field-based role and we are seeking individuals who can work outdoors, develop technical skills, and play a key part in maintaining reliable and sustainable water services. This role is ideal for someone who is seeking to start a career in the water industry and learn new skills.
Full training will be provided, along with company vehicle, fuel card, tools and PPE.
The Role:
As a Field Technician, you will play a key role in supporting the water network operations by installing data logging devices. The devices are used to record water network performance, with the data collected supporting leakage, network modelling, pressure management and water usage.
This field-based position requires working independently, managing your time effectively, and ensuring work is completed to high standards.
- Installation and maintenance of water sensors used to record acoustics, pressure and flow
- Use of specialist equipment
- Accurately complete timesheets, survey forms, and leakage reports
- Take full responsibility for Health & Safety compliance
- Work closely with Team Leaders and fellow technicians
- Report accidents, incidents, and near misses within required timeframes
- Adhere to company vehicle safety processes and complete daily vehicle checks
- Demonstrate company values and professional behaviours at all times
What you’ll need:
- Full, valid UK driving licence
- To consent to and pass a CRB check
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Good planning and organisational ability
- Decisive and confident decision-making skills
- Strong awareness of Health, Safety & Wellbeing
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying conditions
- A strong work ethic and a willingness to contribute to the team.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft package for data recording.
- Initiative and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Notes on the role
- You will work from your home location each day and be prepared to carry out some driving to/from site in your own time.
- Drug and alcohol testing will be performed throughout the contract
