The Role
As a Trainee Leakage Detection Technician, you’ll play a vital role in supporting Scotland’s leakage reduction targets by identifying and locating leaks within the water network. This hands‑on, field‑based position offers variety and challenge — from pinpointing complex leaks and quantifying leakage to validating previous findings at dry holes. What You’ll Do
- Carry out leakage detection surveys across designated areas using approved methods and equipment.
- Assist experienced technicians in field activities while developing technical competence.
- Record and report findings accurately using handheld devices or relevant systems.
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in safe and serviceable condition.
- Comply with all health, safety, and environmental standards at all times.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team to meet performance targets.
- Participate in an ongoing training and development programme, completing required certifications.
Essential What you’ll need:
- Enthusiastic and willing to learn.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Able to work independently once trained.
- Full, valid UK driving licence.
- Willing to undergo DBS checks and alcohol/drug screening.
