The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

Due to our continued growth and expansion within the Geophysical markets, we have staff opportunities for Offshore Geophysicists based globally. Prior offshore experience gained within European waters is advantageous.

The Geophysicists will be responsible for:

  • Onboard processing, QC, and management of all relevant acquired data, including but not limited to geophysical data.
  • Production of associated documents and charts.
  • Care and safety of company and client equipment and vessels.
  • Acquisition, quality checking, processing, monitoring, and interpretation of geophysical survey data from various systems including sub-bottom profiler, magnetometer, side scan sonar, and multibeam bathymetry echosounder systems.
  • Assisting with report writing.
  • Assisting with survey planning, vessel mobilizations, and project management where required.
  • Calibrating and maintaining survey equipment.
  • Technical report writing and charting.
  • Implementing data management procedures and maintaining the processing system.
  • Production and checking of final deliverables.
  • Assisting with the development of new procedures for survey operations, data processing, and data management.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • The ability to plan and write survey reports and to quality control all survey data outputs.
  • An understanding of survey principles and their application in survey planning.
  • A good understanding of geodesy and the importance of sound velocity data for positioning and geophysical systems.
  • A good understanding and use of data processing methods and data management.
  • CAD skills for survey and charting.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Geophysicist in the Offshore Survey field.
  • Education to a degree level in a relevant Geophysical/Survey discipline or equivalent technical/military experience and qualifications.
  • In-depth knowledge of survey IT and networking.
  • The ability to obtain a valid passport and/or visas for international travel.
