The Geophysicist is responsible for collecting, processing, interpreting, and analyzing geophysical data acquired to produce accurate and informative maps and models of the sub-seafloor geology. You will work in a great team in the office in Norwich, UK, or Naples, IT. As a geophysicist, you play a key role in our goal to meet and excel our clients' requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Production of the data deliverables during the project operations.
- Monitoring and promptly reporting any data quality issues with the processing results.
- Interpreting the processed data (SSS/SBP/MAG).
- Producing final deliverables in line with the company quality standards and project requirements.
Minimum Requirements:
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in geophysics, geology, or a related field is typically required; experience in the role within the offshore survey industry may be considered.
- Experience with SonarWiz/SeaView/CODA/Oasis Montaj processing suite; similar software may be considered.
- Ability to QA/QC SSS/SBP/MAG data.
- Proficiency with GIS software, such as ArcGIS and QGIS, is required.
- Ability to produce ESRI compliant geodatabases, integrating all survey data to the client’s specification.
- Offshore experience is preferred.
- A familiarity with geological/geophysical equipment can be helpful.
- Good written and oral English.
- Must be able to travel freely.
- Proactive people with great communication skills are essential in working with other members of a survey team.
- Reading and interpreting client requirements, and presenting results to clients are valuable skills.
- It is also important to be well organized, have time management skills, an eye for detail, and be quality driven.
