Position Overview

Working for A-2-Sea Solutions Ltd, a SubCom LLC company, the Survey Data Manager plays a critical role in managing and delivering geophysical, hydrographic and topographic data products for large scale and smaller scale projects worldwide.

  • Overall control and management of the life cycle of allsurvey data, from acquisition to final customer acceptance.
  • Allocation of personnel to ensure processing and reporting requirementsare achieved.
  • Direct and manage the allocated processing team and resources to ensure all aspects of the task are covered.
  • Establish and maintain effective monitoring to ensure that the allocated processing team is providing the appropriate quality of service agreed with the customer.
  • Carry out regular data quality control measures to ensure data deliverables fulfil the customer’s requirements whist exceeding internalhigh quality standards.
  • Perform training gap analysis to ensure training is provided where necessary.
  • Manage data storage requirements to ensure sufficient capacity for high volumes of data.
  • Cross department collaboration to ensure the data management systems are adhered to.
  • Review and sign off of data deliverables and reports for customer submission.
  • Management of acquisition and processing software licences.
  • Facilitate the distribution of data across internal departments.
  • A higher education degree in offshoresurveying (ideally IHO Cat-A accredited) or related science-based subject.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding ofa variety of geophysical and hydrographic survey equipment, including multibeam echosounders, positioning systems, USBL systems, side scan sonar, magnetometers andsub-bottom profilers.
  • Knowledge of survey software for acquisition and processing, including QPS QINSy, Kongsberg SIS, BeamWorx AutoClean, Caris HIPS & SIPS,Chesapeake SonarWiz, Oasis Montaj and GIS packages.
  • Solid understanding of geodetics.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • A proactive, flexible approach to achieving tasks.
  • Good interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality results.
  • Possession of a full, valid driving license.
  • Ability to lead in a cross-functional team environment.
