UTEC are looking to hire a Project Surveyor on a full time, permanent basis. The preferred location would be based at their facility in Aberdeen, however, willing to consider remote working for the ideal candidate. The Project Surveyor will provide technical survey expertise while assisting Project Managers to achieve safe and profitable execution of assigned projects. They will initiate and coordinate communication between all concerned parties including customers, suppliers, and both onshore and offshore Company staff. The Project Surveyor will contribute in continually monitoring and improving procedures to ensure quality results are achieved.

Responsibilities

  • Manage complete technical lifecycle of projects, from award phase, through planning, execution, monitoring, completion and closeout phases, as well as post-completion evaluation and review.
  • Participation in project risk assessments prior to mobilisation.
  • Write survey method statements and procedures at both bid and operational phase of projects.
  • Oversee technical project execution and be responsible for vessel survey operations, documentation, and QC of offshore deliverables.
  • Participate in quality control of final deliverables to client.
  • Assist PM in advising Operations Management of personnel requirements for projects.
  • Assist PM in sourcing project equipment both internally and externally for project execution.
  • Liaise with clients on Company execution of projects and recording of key performance Indicators.
  • Identify and mitigate potential technical, commercial, QHSE risks for assigned projects.
  • Administer and manage specific project tasks.
  • Liaise with internal logistics personnel to coordinate offshore staff and equipment mobilisation.
  • Conduct site and client visits as required.
  • Utilise the appropriate procedures, work instructions, and forms within the IMS to properly facilitate compliance with company standards
  • Provide technical input to bidding process as required.
  • Promote company services during day-to-day contact with existing and potential clients.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Offshore survey industry experience as a Senior Surveyor and/or Party Chief required.
  • Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is essential.
  • Ability to perform tasks and achieve results with a high degree of accuracy and precision.
  • Ability to competently and professionally present project materials in client meetings, as well as identify and mitigate client concerns.
  • Ability to work both independently and within teams.
  • Must hold a valid passport free from status or restrictive conditions that preclude travel to and work in countries where the Company routinely operates.
