Position Overview
Working for A-2-Sea Solutions Ltd, a SubCom LLC company, the Project Surveyor plays a critical role in managing and the successful delivery of geophysical, hydrographic and topographic survey projects worldwide
- Overall control and management of the survey project life cycle from contract award tofinal customer acceptance.
- Manage personnel requirementsto ensure all aspects of the project are fully resourced.
- Ensure that the appropriate procedures and RAMS are in place to meet the department obligations and to comply with all relevant statutory and other regulations.
- Cross department collaboration to identify critical paths and determine the survey schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective monitoring to ensure that the project team is providing the appropriate quality of service agreed with the customer.
- Provide technical support to the project survey team throughout the project.
- Oversee project progression and track progress against schedule.
- Monitor the budget to ensure that budget targets are met.
- Ensure the implementation of agreed policies and procedures to ensure that the department complies with all health and safety and other statutory regulations.
- Perform training gap analysis to ensure training is provided where necessary.
- Review and sign off of data deliverables and reports for customer submission.
- A higher education degree in offshoresurveying (ideally IHO Cat-A accredited) or related science-based subject.
- Sound knowledge and understanding ofa variety of geophysical and hydrographic survey equipment, including multibeam echosounders, positioning systems, USBL systems, side scan sonar, magnetometers andsub-bottom profilers.
- Knowledge of survey software for acquisition and processing, including QPS QINSy, Kongsberg SIS, BeamWorx AutoClean, Caris HIPS & SIPS,Chesapeake SonarWiz, Oasis Montaj and GIS packages.
- Solid understanding of geodetics.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- A proactive, flexible approach to achieving tasks.
- Good interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality results.
- Possession of a full, valid driving license.
- Ability to lead in a cross-functional team environment.
