We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join a high‑performing data team, delivering scalable and reliable data solutions within a complex enterprise environment. This is a hands‑on role, ideal for someone passionate about building robust data platforms and driving real business value from data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and ELT workflows on Databricks, following Medallion architecture.
  • Analyse data requirements and apply advanced data modelling techniques (including Data Vault) and data quality frameworks.
  • Collaborate with data architects, analysts, product managers, and QA teams to deliver trusted data sets.
  • Document data flows, transformations, and processes to support knowledge sharing and ongoing operations.
  • Contribute to solution design, code reviews, and continuous platform improvement within Agile teams.
  • Drive high‑quality, high‑performance data outcomes with a problem‑solving mindset.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong hands‑on experience with SQL, Python, and data integration/ingestion patterns.
  • Proven expertise in Databricks, Delta Lake, notebooks, and modern data warehousing concepts.
  • Experience with ETL tools such as Informatica IICS and Azure Data Factory.
  • Solid background working with Azure cloud platforms (preferred).
  • Experience integrating and modelling insurance or reinsurance domain data (Lloyd's/specialty market experience highly desirable).
  • Strong knowledge of on‑prem and cloud databases (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server).
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery frameworks (Scrum, SAFe) and tools such as Jira and Azure DevOps.
  • Understanding of data security considerations and tooling within modern data platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team‑focused approach.

Nice to Have

  • Professional certifications in Azure and/or Databricks.
