A fast-growing investment business is looking for a bright, commercially minded Paralegal to work closely with its Head of Legal and Head of Finance & Compliance and support a broad range of legal, corporate and regulatory projects. The role will involve helping to coordinate and project-manage a varied pipeline of work, including supporting on a company reorganisation, company secretarial and governance matters, tax-related matters, overseas regulatory and compliance work. You will also have exposure to wider strategic initiatives, including preparations for future fundraisings.

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants genuine exposure to the legal and operational side of a growing investment business. Previous regulatory experience is not essential; candidates who are commercially minded, proactive, organised and quick to learn will be considered. You will work closely with senior stakeholders and gain insight into how legal, regulatory, finance and commercial considerations come together in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A law degree or equivalent, ideally a First Class degree or Distinction;
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach;
  • The ability to prioritise multiple concurrent tasks, work under pressure and meet deadlines;
  • Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills;
  • Excellent attention to detail and a professional, efficient and business-like manner;
  • A proactive approach, with the initiative to take ownership and solve problems;
  • Flexibility and enthusiasm for taking on new and challenging work;
  • A strong interest in investment and financial markets. Knowledge of funds, leveraged finance or secondary trading would be advantageous;
  • Previous in-house experience within a fund or buy-side environment would be helpful, although candidates from corporate, M&A or derivatives backgrounds will also be considered.
