Network Operations Centre (NOC) Shift Lead – 24/7 Operations (Belfast)
Location: Onsite, Newtownabbey, County Antrim
Salary: £37,000 + 15% shift allowance
Hours: 24/7 rotating shift pattern (4 days on 7am–7pm, 4 off, then 4 nights 7pm–7am, 4 off)
We are looking for a NOC Shift Lead to join a newly established 24/7 Command Centre in Belfast. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you will coordinate shift activity, support engineers, and ensure smooth delivery of critical services across live operational environments. This role is best suited to someone with strong people leadership experience in an IT, service desk, or operational support environment, who is confident managing priorities, escalations, and team performance in real time. You will not be a technical escalation point, but you will be responsible for ensuring work is correctly prioritised, incidents are progressing, and service levels are maintained across the shift.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate a shift team within a live NOC environment
- Allocate and prioritise workloads across incidents and service requests
- Act as escalation point for major incidents and operational issues
- Ensure SLA targets and service quality standards are consistently met
- Oversee shift handovers and ensure accurate operational continuity
- Provide clear communication across internal teams, engineers, and third parties
- Support incident management activity and ensure updates are accurate and timely
- Guide and support engineers during shift to maintain performance and flow
What we are looking for
- Strong people leadership experience (minimum 2 years managing or leading teams)
- Experience in an IT support, service desk, NOC, or operational environment
- Confident communicator with the ability to manage pressure and competing priorities
- Experience working in SLA-driven or ITIL-aligned environments
- Understanding of incident management and service operations (preferred, not essential)
- Comfortable working in a 24/7 shift‑based rota
