Hydrogen Group is supporting our pensions client in their search for experienced Senior Pensions Data Management professionals to join the Scheme Events team. In this role, you’ll play a pivotal part in extracting, analysing, cleansing, and processing pensions data across complex Defined Benefit (DB) schemes—ensuring high-quality delivery for key projects and scheme events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the delivery of assigned scheme events and data projects, ensuring timeliness and accuracy
- Conduct complex data manipulation and bulk calculations using advanced Excel functions
- Build and maintain strong client and internal stakeholder relationships
- Review and quality-check the work of Pensions Data Technicians
- Identify, manage, and report data risks and breaches
- Provide technical support, audit trails, testing, and regular updates to Project Managers
- Act as a subject matter expert for internal and client-led change programmes
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience with Defined Benefit (DB) pension schemes
- Strong technical pensions knowledge and calculation expertise
- Advanced Excel skills including:
- Formulas, including nested IFs and VLOOKUPs
- Pivot tables, data filters, sorting and grouping
- Data transformation, import/export of text files
- Building and enhancing templates/macros
- Experience working with bulk data and management systems
Desirable:
- PMI qualification
- Client-facing or coaching experience
- Degree or A-levels in Maths, or equivalent work-based analytical experience
