About the Role:

Hydrogen Group have partnered with a global Offshore Wind Power company who are seeking an experienced SCADA Engineer to join the growing offshore wind team based in Edinburgh. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, operation, and maintenance of SCADA systems that monitor and control offshore wind farm assets. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineering, IT, cybersecurity, and operations, to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient SCADA system performance throughout the lifecycle of offshore wind projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, configure, and commission SCADA systems for offshore wind projects, including RTUs, PLCs, HMIs, data historians, and communication networks.
  • Hardware, Software, Integration and Commissioning support on all operational systems.
  • Develop and implement SCADA network architecture and communication protocols (IEC 61850, DNP3, OPC, Modbus, etc.).
  • Monitor and analyze SCADA data for system performance.
  • Support fault diagnosis and resolution related to SCADA and remote monitoring systems.
  • Maintain documentation of SCADA system architecture, configurations, and updates.
  • Support project development and commissioning phases by providing technical SCADA input and managing contractors.
  • Provide training and technical support to operations and maintenance personnel.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience working with SCADA systems in renewable energy, power generation, or industrial automation.
  • Proven experience with SCADA software platforms (e.g., Siemens WinCC, GE iFIX, Wonderware, ABB).
  • Strong knowledge of PLC programming (Siemens, Schneider, or similar) and industrial communication protocols.
  • Experience with offshore or wind energy projects is highly desirable.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in high-pressure, offshore environments.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, including experience working with multi-disciplinary teams and external vendors.

Please note, this role requires you to be in Edinburgh for a minimum of three days a week.
