Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Hours: 38 hours per week, Mon-Fri. (hours to be discussed at interview can be flexible)

Salary: £17.00 - £20.00 per hour (dependant on experience and skills) plus Overtime

The role of the CNC Programmer/Operator will involve production of precision bespoke 1 off tools using a variety of machines both manual and CNC to customer specification as workload demands.

Responsibilities:
  • To produce a high quality product operating a range of CNC machines and CNC lathes ensuring quality workmanship at all times, programming, setting and operating the CNC Machines.
  • To maintain and improve productivity, work in line with company procedures and machine capability to ensure production deadlines are met.
  • Programme, set and operate CNC machines.
  • Must have programming experience using Siemens ShopMill/ ShopTurn.
  • Operation of manual milling, turning and drilling machines when required.
  • Manufacturing of jigs and fixtures.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and use the information to create programmes to machine details.
  • Share knowledge and provide training to less experienced members of the team.
  • Assist team leader in estimating manufacturing times and capabilities for quotation purposes.
  • Ensure that production quality and output levels are optimised at all times.

Proven experience of CNC programming, setting and operating. Proven experience of manual milling and turning machines. Must have ability to programme using ShopMill/ ShopTurn on Siemens 828D systems. Experience using Heidenhain control systems and/or oneCNC CAD/CAM software would be advantageous. Willingness to travel in UK and worldwide as required on occasion. Valid driving licence and passport is desirable.

You may have some or all of the above skills and experience, but full training will be provided to the successful candidate.
