Experience & Industry Knowledge:
- Significant experience in developing sales and building strong customer relationships, ideally within the UK Water and Wastewater industry.
- Background in solution selling of wastewater capital equipment, spares and service.
- Strong understanding of the needs of municipal and industrial markets, including market structure and key customers.
Sales Skills & Achievements:
- Proven ability to consistently achieve sales targets.
- Self‑motivated with the drive to work independently and achieve results.
Technical & System Skills:
- Proficiency in ERP/CRM systems for customer relationship management and financial control.
- Experience using Microsoft CRM Database.
Communication & Interpersonal Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport and maintain professional relationships.
Duties:
- Formulate and implement a plan to achieve or exceed the sales budget within the designated area, including lead generation, client needs assessment, product trials, quotation, and after‑sales service.
- Manage customer relationships, building partnerships and ensuring satisfaction.
- Maintain the Microsoft CRM database.
- Promote solutions to technical and commercial stakeholders, identifying opportunities, defining requirements, negotiating terms and closing sales.
- Complete required sales reporting and client relationship management documents.
- Act as a key senior management team member, providing input on sales, marketing and business development.
- Collaborate with Proposals, Capital Delivery and other office‑based teams to ensure seamless customer service and sales growth.
- Prepare and deliver pitches and presentations to attract new clients.
- Participate in industry trade shows, events and targeted marketing campaigns.
- Gather and report client feedback, market trends and field insights to refine offerings for the UK&I markets.
- Apply BS EN ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 requirements where appropriate.
- Be responsible for health and safety and environmental aspects affecting yourself, employees and projects under your control.
- Perform other duties as reasonably required by the company.
