The Tendering Engineer is a critical role with responsibility to Manage the System Build team and compile commercial and Technical tenders for panel and complex product/modular assemblies being manufactured and assembled at Hydrasun.
As the System Build Tendering Engineer they will have to liaise where appropriate with the supporting functions i. e.
Engineering and finance where required to compile tenders.
Responsibilities of the Role
- Provide technical assistance to sales department at build opportunity stage prior to receiving an enquiry.
- Review customer quote requests, specifications, drawings and other technical and commercial documents.
- Provide fast, accurate estimates for price and delivery for system builds including build times by Syspro work centre, component / material requirements, tooling and sub-contract operations.
- Ensure there is sufficient operation capacity (people, plant and equipment) to complete the build work scope prior to providing a price and delivery response.
- Liaise with identified key sub-contractors to obtain the best price and delivery during quotation and to schedule any confirmed system build jobs at job launch post award.
- Liaise with Engineering department regarding design considerations.
- Liaise with operational teams to constantly review the production schedule to allow fast response to urgent customer delivery requirements.
- Create the Syspro Bo M (structure and routing) for stock codes and specials including materials, operations and 3rd party operations.
- Request and maintain any new stock codes as required to produce the new manufactured item
- Maintain accurate Syspro Bo Ms for system build stock codes.
- Reviews customer Purchase Orders to identify any deviations from the original quotation.
- Requests Engineering support if Hydrasun is designing the System or providing the customer with feedback on aspects of the design.

- Provide routine progress reporting to stakeholders
- To assist in the development the System Build channel strategy through clear definition of market offering to ensure the business has sufficient capability to deliver against external and internal project delivery requirements.
- Work closely with the external sales team to ensure alignment to the developed System Build strategy.
- Overall responsibility for the delivery of projects within the System Build channel to meet safety, scope, cost, schedule and business benefit targets.
- Ensures all projects have detailed commercial estimates documented and baselined designs.
- Managing and reporting on key milestones across all projects progressing through the System Build channel.
- Works with project managers and other key stakeholders to mitigate and manage risks to milestones to prevent programme slippage
- Manages cross-project and interdepartmental dependencies
- Provides regular reporting and communication on project status
- Ensuring successful commissioning, handover, and closeout of the projects to client/operations as appropriate.
- Work with the Glasgow and Aberdeen Engineering teams to establish engineered designs to allow quotes and builds to progress.
Qualifications
Essential
- HNC/HND/Degree in electro/mechanical engineering, manufacturing management is desirable or significant suitable experience
Experience
- Relevant experience in working with build of complex panel and modular assemblies
- A strong commercial knowledge with reasonable experience of working in a panel/modular assembly business.
- Ability to operate effectively in a multi stakeholder environment at all levels of the organisation, including but not limited to business-to-business clients, stakeholders, suppliers and internal colleagues and teams.
- Leadership roles at a strategic managerial level, managing cross-functional and multi-disciplinary teams.
- A track record in commercial and technical management of equipment for the oil & gas, petrochemical or power (conventional or renewable) industry.
- Full project lifecycle management experience from concept development, prototyping, manufacture, commissioning through to closeout/handover.
