A day in the life of an Area Sales Manager: Reporting to the Regional Manager, as an Area Sales Manager you are primarily responsible for the growth of sales within your area through effective account management and new business growth. You will be responsible for the ongoing management of local and national accounts within your area, targeting the growth of these, along with introducing new customers to our company.
- Manage current accounts to assure sales volume grows year on year.
- Identify, engage, plan, and develop new area & national accounts.
- Develop all current accounts and business opportunities by working with other area resources.
- Oversee account compliance to ensure company agreements are maximised to their full potential.
- Sell into target accounts, identify prospects, and create new ideas to generate revenue and new opportunities.
- Oversee opportunities and leads through opportunity pipeline reporting.
- Represent the company at conferences and trade shows.
- Complete monthly reports on revenue vs. growth forecasts and inform management on new area developments.
- Inform any customer issues to Branch Manager for suitable action and resolve collaboratively.
- Resolve any issues and ensure the highest level of service by coordinating with centre staff and management.

This remote role requires someone with good organisational skills and the ability to multitask. Your drive will come from a desire to achieve results and play your part in a wider team. You will need a proven track record in area sales along with strong references.
You will also have:
- Proven work experience as an External Account Manager, Key Account Manager, Sales Account Manager, Junior Account Manager, or relevant role (minimum 3 years).
- Demonstrable ability to communicate, present and influence key stakeholders at all levels of an organisation, including procurement directors and business owners.
- Solid experience with CRM software (e.g. Salesâi, Salesforce) and MS Office (particularly MS Excel).
- Proven ability to juggle multiple account management projects at a time, while maintaining sharp attention to detail.
- Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
