Role and Responsibilities:
As Assistant Branch Manager, you will support the Area Manager in the day-to-day operation of the branch. You’ll help lead the team, support sales growth, and ensure high standards of service, safety and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and develop the branch team, providing first-line people support
- Assist in driving sales growth and delivering excellent customer service
- Support daily branch operations, including orders, quotations and job coordination
- Act as an escalation point for customer queries when required
- Support use of digital tools, including job management systems
- Champion health & safety and ensure compliance with company policies
What we’re looking for
Essential experience
- Experience supporting or managing a team in an operational or service environment
- Strong customer-facing skills with a focus on service excellence
- Confident IT and digital skills
- Organised, proactive and detail-focused approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Health & safety awareness
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable experience
- Engineering or service background, ideally within hydraulics or a similar industry
- Supervisory or management experience
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in engineering, customer service or management
- Knowledge of hydraulics, hoses and fittings
