We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Quotation Engineer to join our Commercial Team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with a strong engineering background who enjoys working with data, cost analysis, customer requirements, and cross-functional teams.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate quotations, creating Bills of Materials (BOMs) and routings, managing engineering changes, and supporting the introduction of new products into the business.
You will work closely with Sales, Engineering, Production and Purchasing teams to ensure customer requirements are met efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare quotations for fabricated parts, hose assemblies, tubular manipulation products, and bought-in items.
- Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and routings within the PLEX ERP system.
- Generate accurate product costings using measured and estimated manufacturing times.
- Liaise with internal departments and the sales team to produce timely quotations.
- Manage engineering changes and minimise commercial risks associated with obsolete stock and production commitments.
- Introduce and manage new products through the NPI process.
- Obtain supplier quotations for materials and subcontract services.
- Generate customer and stock part numbers.
- Maintain accurate customer information and correspondence within the ERP system.
- Work with Production Team Leaders to ensure templates and processes remain up to date.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and attend production, customer, and system development meetings.
- Analyse lead times, batch quantities and purchasing data to optimise production planning and material requirements.
