What We Are Looking For
We are looking for an experienced Fabricator Welder skilled in FCAW/MIG/TIG welding, fabrication, and interpreting engineering drawings. The ideal candidate will produce high-quality work, work safely and efficiently, have strong attention to detail, and be a reliable team player with a positive attitude and commitment to meeting production deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret engineering drawings
- Fabricate and assemble metal components to required standards
- Carry out FCAW/MIG and TIG welding as required. Welding coding can be obtained for the right candidate
- Work with Hydramec inspection to ensure quality and accuracy
- Operate fabrication machinery and hand tools safely
- Measure, cut, shape, and prepare materials for fabrication
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet production schedules and customer deadlines
Skills & Qualifications
Qualifications and Experience
- At least 3 years experience in fabrication and welding within a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Experience with FCAW/MIG and TIG welding (coding/certification desirable but not essential)
- A relevant welding or fabrication qualification (e.g. NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent) or proven experience
Skills and Competencies
- Strong fabrication and welding skills with excellent attention to detail
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to identify practical solutions
- Strong understanding of health and safety requirements within a workshop environment
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Good time management skills with the ability to meet production deadlines while maintaining high quality standards
