The predicted salary is between 35000 - 45000 Β£ per year.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced and commercially focused Account Manager to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role within a well-established engineering and manufacturing business, supporting both existing customer relationships and the development of new business opportunities.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the Account Manager will be responsible for managing customer accounts, driving profitable growth, and acting as the main commercial interface between the business and its customers. The successful candidate will work closely with internal departments including Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Procurement to ensure excellent customer service and successful project delivery.

This role would suit someone with previous account management, sales, or business development experience within a technical or engineering environment who enjoys building strong customer relationships and delivering commercial success.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage and develop existing customer accounts while identifying and securing new business opportunities.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all customer commercial matters including enquiries, quotations, pricing, and contracts.
  • Build and maintain strong long-term relationships with customers and key stakeholders.
  • Provide commercial insight and support business growth strategies to maximise profitability.
  • Monitor account performance, customer expectations, and market activity to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
  • Collaborate closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Procurement teams to ensure customer requirements are achieved.
  • Prepare and manage quotations, pricing structures, terms, conditions, and customer framework agreements.
  • Resolve customer issues efficiently and professionally, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor sales performance and margins while providing forecasts and updates to the Commercial Manager.
  • Support the continuous improvement of commercial procedures and processes across the business.

What we’re looking for:

  • Previous experience in account management, sales, marketing, or business development.
  • Ideally experienced within an engineering, manufacturing, or technical environment.
  • Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Customer-focused with a proactive and results-driven approach.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in contract negotiation and commercial management.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Willingness to travel when required.
