Job Description
Please note – this Graduate Placement is to start immediately and will be a 12‑24 month placement based at our HydraForce, Birmingham facility.
- To develop technical understanding working alongside technicians, engineers and leads.
- To provide support to the department under the guidance of experienced Engineers.
- Support departments with the delivery of designated departmental projects, which will vary depending on the current business and department needs.
- Develop a network of contacts within the company which will enhance your understanding and effectiveness throughout the placement.
- Liaise with personnel at parent company, to control and co‑ordinate new valve builds from USA.
- Produce and maintain relevant internal documentation to company standards, ensuring they are clear, concise and understandable for all users.
- Design and develop lean manufacturing cells, through analysis of process needs to include process assembly and test equipment.
- Design and develop assembly and testing fixtures to meet the departmental needs, liaising with the Manufacturing Services staff when required to arrange fabrication.
- Support production by working closely with Team Leaders to fulfil requests for tooling and providing assistance where required.
- Undertake training opportunities as they arise to enhance learning and contribute to professional development.
Qualifications
- Completed engineering degree.
- Computer literate, with sound knowledge of Microsoft packages.
- Awareness of lean manufacturing techniques would be useful.
- Understanding of manufacturing and production processes advantageous.
- AutoCAD, Creo or any 3D Modeling software would be advantageous.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Able to work as an effective member of team, collaborating where required to achieve optimum outcomes.
- Experienced in managing projects, delivering on time and within budget.
