Hykit is looking for a Business Development Manager to support our commercial growth by identifying, nurturing and progressing new customer opportunities across our clean‑fuels and hydrogen portfolio. This is an opportunity to build an active pipeline of prospects across priority sectors, including Construction, Agriculture, Materials Handling Equipment, Marine, Aviation and other industrial users, and play a key role in Hykit's commercial expansion.
About Hykit
Hykit designs and delivers hydrogen infrastructure solutions, including mobile refuelling, gas storage and compression systems. Working at the forefront of clean energy and industrial technology, we develop rugged, modular products engineered for demanding environments across construction, transport and agriculture.
The Role
Reporting to the Sales Director and working closely with the Lead Business Development Manager, you'll be responsible for day‑to‑day business development activity — research and prospecting, initial outreach, preparation for customer meetings, capturing requirements and coordinating internal inputs to develop proposals. You'll maintain accurate opportunity records, support disciplined sales management and reliable forecasting, and represent Hykit in selected customer interactions and industry forums.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and identify prospective hydrogen and clean‑fuel customers across priority sectors, building profiles of target organisations and potential demand.
- Undertake outbound prospecting through emails, calls and event follow‑up to secure introductory meetings and qualify initial interest.
- Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date CRM records of all leads and opportunities, including contacts, meeting notes and opportunity stage.
- Participate in customer meetings alongside the Sales Director, capturing requirements and following up to keep opportunities moving through the sales process.
- Draft concise opportunity summaries and qualification notes for internal review.
- Coordinate inputs from internal teams to help assemble customer‑specific proposals, preparing draft sections, slide decks and commercial summaries.
- Gather and organise data for indicative pricing and volume profiling, supporting negotiation prep and document version control.
- Monitor tenders, framework opportunities, competitor announcements and policy developments relevant to the sector.
- Contribute to routine reporting on pipeline health, including volume, mix, stage and conversion trends.
About You
- Proven B2B sales or business development experience (5+ years) in energy, fuels, transport, industrials or infrastructure, or transferable experience from a related sector.
- Demonstrated experience prospecting, building customer relationships and progressing opportunities through a structured sales process.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, confident engaging customer contacts at operational and commercial levels.
- Good commercial awareness and numeracy, with understanding of basic pricing structures and project economics.
- Organised and methodical approach to record‑keeping and managing multiple opportunities simultaneously.
- Self‑starter, capable of managing outbound prospecting workload independently.
Desirable
- Exposure to hydrogen, clean fuels, EV charging or wider decarbonisation solutions.
- Experience selling into public‑sector bodies, transport operators or industrial clients.
- Familiarity with CRM platforms and disciplined opportunity management.
- Understanding of tender and framework procurement processes.
Why Join Hykit
