Company Description

We are currently recruiting for a Head of Groups & Events Sales – London to lead our strong and dynamic reactive sales team here at The Hoxton.

You’ll be responsible for driving our Groups & Events segments to big success across the London Cluster, steering the commercial strategies forward and bringing fresh initiatives to the table to support our continued growth.

Working closely with and reporting into our Cluster Director of Sales – London, this is a multi-property role covering The Hoxton Shoreditch, Holborn, Southwark, Shepherds Bush and 12th Floor at WorkingFrom_. You’ll play an important and pivotal role in shaping the future of this department, bringing in the business and leading the team to achieve great things.

Job Description

  1. Lead and manage the London Groups & Events Sales and Short Lead teams from recruitment and induction, managing workload & resource distribution through to training, development plans and reviews.
  2. Take responsibility for achieving financial targets, forecasting monthly revenues and reporting on month end performance.
  3. Maintain and share up-to-date knowledge on Groups and Events performance, future pace trends and set clear focus areas, supporting the team to achieve consistently.
  4. As a key part of the London commercial team, you’ll be collaborating with other departments to agree & implement strategies, drive results and ensure brand alignment, keeping The Hoxton one step ahead of the market.
  5. Ensure the Hox client journey is always top of mind; from site inspections, swift enquiry responses, securing contracts and reviewing addendums through to final planning handover.
  6. Ensure up to date selling guidelines are in place & manage the Group & Events offering to optimise conversion and maximise revenues.
  7. Maintain an excellent level of knowledge of the local marketplace in each Hoxton location and feedback any new opportunities to explore.
  8. Work closely with the London and wider European sales team to improve internal procedures, ensuring our systems are fully configured and hold accurate data, enabling your team to operate efficiently while following key processes.
  9. Ensure our client material – think proposals, contracts, promotions, brochures, web pages – is up to date and on-brand.
  10. Get stuck in with everything you’d expect your team to and be ready to react to any curve balls that come your way – from client proposals to admin tasks, we’re an ‘all hands on deck’ team.

Qualifications

  1. Given the scope of the role, we’re looking for someone with at least 2 years’ experience in a managerial position.
  2. You’re naturally very commercially intuitive with an appetite for digging deep into analytics and thoroughly confident when sharing valuable insights at senior level.
  3. You’re a positive go-getter, looking to ‘make your mark’ on this department and passionate about driving groups, meetings & events business.
  4. You enjoy working with and already understand the inner workings of multiple departments, from operations to pro-active sales, and from revenue to brand.
  5. You’re calm under pressure and enjoy leading a remarkable team within a fast-paced environment.
  6. You lead by example on attention to detail and organisational skills, managing your time when it’s in high demand.
  7. You’re looking to motivate and lead a team that works hard, supports each other and has fun along the way.
  8. You can nurture a team culture where team members feel empowered to make decisions and take responsibility for their workload and professional development.
  9. Experience using DELPHI would be an advantage.
