What You’ll Do

If you are a woman and passionate about a career in trades, we are currently recruiting for apprentices living in close proximity to Rochester, in Kent.

To support our female residents in their homes with daily expert repairs, whilst learning and becoming a qualified property maintenance apprentice.

  • Provide professional domestic gas trade services to residents, ensuring internal and external work sites are adequately protected, respecting customer privacy and property, and delivering a high level of customer service.
  • If responsible for a Hyde van, perform routine maintenance checks on vehicles, reporting defects, accidental damage, or loss of property in accordance with standard procedures.
  • Assist with maintaining and monitoring the supply, stock, and use of gas engineering and plumbing trade materials, ensuring only quality materials are utilized for repair work to enhance the standard level of properties and service the Hyde Group offers customers.
  • Exercise and promote the highest levels of duty, care, and safety within all working environments to minimise any exposure to risk for all Hyde Group employees, properties, and customers.
  • Communicate effectively to residents and demonstrate excellent customer care skills.
  • Assist and learn, training alongside qualified gas engineers in works such as boilers, pipework, radiators and heating systems and day-to-day responsive repair maintenance.
  • Learn, understand, and adhere to all safe systems of work, Health and Safety requirements, policies, risk management guidelines to always ensure safe working procedures.
  • Always wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ensure any tools or machinery are operated following approved safety instructions and regulations.
  • Report any accidents or dangerous incidents and near misses promptly to both Health & Safety and other relevant managers.
  • Demonstrate appropriate behaviours to ensure that an excellent service delivery is maintained in all aspects of the role and demonstrate professional representation of the company.
  • Apply all knowledge, behaviours and skill attributes being achieved during the apprenticeship to your role at work.
  • Adhere to all Hyde Group's policies and procedures.

At Hyde, apprentices who successfully complete their apprenticeship and whose performance meets Hyde's expectations should move into a generalist property maintenance operative role.
