About the role:
- Manage a housing management legal caseload across the Hyde Group, delivering high-quality legal advice and litigation support.
- Advise on matters including anti-social behaviour, tenancy enforcement, possession proceedings, housing succession, leasehold and service charge disputes, and related housing litigation.
- Draft legal documents including pleadings, witness statements, notices and injunction applications, and instruct external counsel where appropriate.
- Provide practical, risk-based advice to colleagues across Housing Management and related teams.
- Support training and knowledge sharing across the business to strengthen legal understanding and case handling.
- Contribute to performance reporting, value for money and continuous improvement within the Legal team.
What we’re looking for:
- A qualified solicitor with a minimum of 2 years PQE and a current practising certificate or a Chartered Legal Executive.
- Strong experience in housing management litigation and advisory work in the social housing sector, ideally gained in-house, or in private practice.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation and advocacy skills, with the ability to manage a varied caseload independently.
- A practical and commercially aware approach, with confidence advising stakeholders at different levels across the business.
- Strong organisational skills, sound judgement and the ability to deliver high-quality legal support in a fast-paced environment.
