Are you looking for a new and exciting challenge, with a forward thinking organisation within the high tech engineering sector? Hyde Group are established Industry experts within Aerospace Engineering and have a new vacancy for a Stores Operative working at our Dukinfield (Cheshire) site.

About the opportunity

The Stores Operative plays a key role in supporting the effective movement, control, and availability of materials throughout Hyde Aero Products. Acting as a central link between suppliers, manufacturing, projects, quality, purchasing and logistics functions, the postholder ensures that materials, tooling, components and finished goods are received, controlled, stored and issued accurately and efficiently. The role is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting on-time delivery performance, ensuring full material traceability, and complying with company, customer, quality and safety requirements. Working within established stores, warehouses and ERP processes, the Stores Operative helps ensure manufacturing teams have the right materials available at the right time to meet customer commitments.

Main Duties

  • Receive and inspect incoming goods against purchase orders, delivery notes, and system requirements.
  • Accurately book materials into the SAP system and maintain inventory records.
  • Ensure material certifications, release documentation, and traceability records are controlled and retained.
  • Maintain accurate stock locations and ensure materials are stored safely, securely, and appropriately.
  • Support material movements between Hyde Aero business units as required.
  • Conduct stock checks and cycle counts and resolve discrepancies.
  • Issue materials, kits and consumables to manufacturing areas.
  • Liaise with Production, Projects, and Quality teams regarding material availability.
  • Prepare and package customer deliveries and support dispatch activities.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain 5S Workplace Organisation standards.
  • Follow Hyde Aero procedures, customer requirements and aerospace quality standards at all times.
  • Hold a full UK driving license.
  • Support customer deliveries where required.

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in stores, warehouses, logistics or materials control environment.
  • Good understanding of stock control and inventory management principles.
  • Experience using ERP, MRP or inventory management systems.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Commitment to safe working practices.
  • Experience contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, including problem solving and 5S activities.

Desired Experience

  • Experience within aerospace, manufacturing or engineering sectors.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 or other regulated quality management systems.
  • Forklift Truck (FLT) license.
  • Experience in handling aerospace documentation and material certification.
  • Understanding of kitting activities and production support processes.
  • Experience of multi-site inventory management.
