We are looking to appoint a CMM Inspector with industry knowledge and aerospace experience to work as part of our quality team within our machining business at our Stockport (Cheshire) site.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect jobs at various stages of the machining inspection process: 1st off, final inspection and FAIR inspection in line with customer requirements.
- Provide machine operators with timely feedback on product non‑conformities.
- Highlight any training needs to supervisors and assist with technical queries.
- Seek out and drive continuous improvements to identify and resolve issues within your control; contribute to wider continuous improvement activities.
- Preferred Skills
- Excellent communications skills.
- Good team working ethic, highly pro‑active and motivated.
- Ability to read and interpret 3D models & 2D drawings.
- Experience in a CMM software (Camio preferred; other systems accepted).
- Excellent customer facing skills with a proactive approach to problem solving.
- Solid engineering background.
- Good understanding of the quality management systems (QMS) in the aerospace/automotive industry.
- Understanding of AS9100.
- FAIRS process experience preferred.
- Experience with various inspection tools and ability to understand inspection reports.
- Good understanding of inspection and manufacturing techniques.
- Experience of CNC machining is preferred.
- IT literate, especially SAP, Microsoft Project, Excel and Power Point.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving skills; Lean/Six Sigma knowledge preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours if required.
