We are looking to appoint a CMM Inspector with industry knowledge and aerospace experience to work as part of our quality team within our machining business at our Stockport (Cheshire) site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect jobs at various stages of the machining inspection process: 1st off, final inspection and FAIR inspection in line with customer requirements.
  • Provide machine operators with timely feedback on product non‑conformities.
  • Highlight any training needs to supervisors and assist with technical queries.
  • Seek out and drive continuous improvements to identify and resolve issues within your control; contribute to wider continuous improvement activities.

  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Good team working ethic, highly pro‑active and motivated.
  • Ability to read and interpret 3D models & 2D drawings.
  • Experience in a CMM software (Camio preferred; other systems accepted).
  • Excellent customer facing skills with a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Solid engineering background.
  • Good understanding of the quality management systems (QMS) in the aerospace/automotive industry.
  • Understanding of AS9100.
  • FAIRS process experience preferred.
  • Experience with various inspection tools and ability to understand inspection reports.
  • Good understanding of inspection and manufacturing techniques.
  • Experience of CNC machining is preferred.
  • IT literate, especially SAP, Microsoft Project, Excel and Power Point.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving skills; Lean/Six Sigma knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible hours if required.
