Plumber

Hyde Group is recruiting a multi-trades plumber to carry out day-to-day repairs and maintenance inside residents' homes. The core of the work is plumbing, such as leaks, blockages and pipework, alongside tiling, minor wall and flooring repairs, and basic carpentry. The post suits someone who can manage their own workload on site, with social housing experience a bonus. Fit depends on a full UK driving licence and a basic DBS check.

What the job involves

• Carrying out multi-trade repairs, with plumbing as the main focus, plus general maintenance as required
• Diagnosing and resolving day-to-day repairs such as leaks, blockages, pipework, minor wall and flooring repairs, tiling and basic carpentry
• Completing repairs to kitchens, bathrooms and other areas of customers' homes to a high standard
• Carrying out associated works such as patch plastering, sealing, decorating touch-ups and replacing fixtures and fittings
• Working independently while collaborating with other trades on more complex repairs and projects
• Recording work completed, materials used and progress through work orders and reporting systems
• Delivering professional, friendly customer service and keeping residents informed throughout each repair
• Ensuring all work is safe and meets Hyde's health and safety policies, procedures and compliance standards

Experience

• Solid plumbing experience, with the ability to undertake other trade jobs

Skills & knowledge

• Confident using hand and power tools
• Able to work independently and manage own workload
• Good communication skills and a customer-friendly attitude

Checks & eligibility

• Full, valid UK driving licence
• Basic DBS check

Other

• Physically fit and happy with hands-on work
