About the opportunity

Working alongside experienced engineers, machinists, and quality personnel, you will support Engineering and Manufacturing teams while completing a structured apprenticeship programme. You will develop skills across CNC machining, manufacturing engineering, quality assurance, continuous improvement, and production support.

Main Duties

  • Train across CNC machining centres and develop an understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes.
  • Assist with CNC programming, CAD/CAM activities, setup sheets, tooling data, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Support new product introduction, machining prove-outs, and process improvements.
  • Learn to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Take part in continuous improvement activities to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency.
  • Support inspection, quality documentation, non-conformance investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate engineering records and follow company quality, health and safety, and environmental procedures.

Essential Skills

  • GCSEs, or equivalent, in Mathematics, English and a STEM-related subject.
  • A strong interest in engineering, manufacturing, and technology.
  • Good problem-solving, communication, organisational, and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to learn, develop new technical skills, and work with attention to detail.

Desired Skills

  • A-Level, BTEC, T-Level or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, Mathematics, Physics, or a related subject.
  • Basic understanding of CNC machining, CAD/CAM software, engineering principles, or manufacturing processes.
  • Previous engineering, workshop, or manufacturing experience.
