As an Apprentice Welder, your responsibilities will include:
- Learning a range of welding and fabrication techniques under supervision, including TIG welding processes.
- Supporting the fabrication and welding of components for sectors including aerospace and defence.
- Developing the ability to read and understand engineering drawings, specifications and work instructions.
- Assisting with preparation, measurement, cutting, assembly and finishing activities as part of the welding process.
- Working towards achieving the required standards, quality expectations and apprenticeship milestones.
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe work area.
- Following all health, safety and environmental procedures always.
About You – Requirements:
- Willingness to learn, take instruction and develop practical skills in a workshop environment.
- Good attention to detail and a positive attitude towards quality and safety.
- Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors and mentors.
- Good timekeeping, reliability and commitment to completing the apprenticeship programme.
- GCSEs in Maths and English, or equivalent, are desirable. Support may be available where functional skills are required.
