About the opportunity
SG Instruments Ltd is currently recruiting a CMM Inspector based at one of our bespoke Engineering facilities in Tameside. As an Inspector you will be responsible for both in process inspection and final inspection, operating CMM machines using MCOSMOS software. Youll also inspect our products using conventional instruments such as bore gauge and thread gauge. Ideally, you will have some programming knowledge/experience.
Youll also use your experience to support internal driven quality sessions in order to improve the knowledge base of our skilled operators and support Material Review Boards/non-conformance investigations when required.
You will be passionate about Quality standards and be willing to learn and grow through the business.
This is an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious and motivated candidate to advance their career within an established organisation. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to progress into a leadership position, ultimately taking ownership of and leading the Inspection Department.
Essential Skills
- Youll be fully trained in the use of CMM equipment.
- Create, edit, and run CMM inspection programs.
- Ability to read and interrogate engineering drawings, GD&T & specifications.
- Youll be qualified to minimum City and Guilds.
Desired Skills
- Experience of using MCOSMOS software (though not essential as training will be given).
- Some offline programming experience would be beneficial.
- Experience in Quality Control and Calibration is advantageous.
- Experience performing FAIR (First Article Reporting) is advantageous.
Required qualifications
You must be a time-served apprentice with NVQ Level 3 as a minimum.
