The Hyde Group are established industry experts and has a vacancy for a Key Account Manager working in our manufacturing facility in Dukinfield. We are one of the UK's largest and most trusted engineering companies, providing products and services to Aerospace, Nuclear, Energy and Scientific sectors. We have successfully supplied to the Aerospace industry for over 50 years.
The Key Account Manager is a critical management role that requires strong account management/project management skills to ensure that our clients are provided with first-class service. It is essential to have a strong desire to develop your skills and learn about new areas, to maintain and enhance the customer relationship. Growth of the account through demonstrated performance as well as through identification of new opportunities will be key to your success.
- Customer Interfacing: Lead reviews and project status meetings with customers, translating engineering requirements into clear, actionable project milestones and resolving any issues and escalations from customers.
- Project Planning & Tracking: Utilize advanced Excel (VBA/macros preferred) to develop detailed performance spreadsheets and resource trackers.
- Orderbook Management: Ensure a high level of Delivery Schedule Adherence is achieved and sustained.
- Supply Chain Management: Use appropriate systems to manage both internal and external requirements, examples including defining production priorities, ensuring material availability and managing the external supply chain to ensure on time delivery.
- Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies to prevent schedule slippage.
- Contract Review: Conduct thorough reviews of purchase orders and to ensure all engineering requirements, performance milestones, and delivery schedules are realistic and achievable before work commences.
- Excel: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is preferred, including complex formulas, power queries, pivot tables, and ideally VBA/automation skills for data-driven decision making.
- Customer Relations: Strong foundational knowledge of aerospace or defence engineering, typically gained through an advanced degree or 3-5 years of industry experience. Prior experience with MRP/ERP systems for production planning and inventory control is highly desirable.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to report project health to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Performance Indicators (KPIs): On-Time Delivery (in Full), Arrears, Account growth, Contract Review Turnaround & RFT, Collaboration effectiveness, Action & Risk closure, Project Management, Stakeholder Management, Commercial Awareness, Contract Management, Risk Analysis, Risk & Opportunity Management, Industrial experience (Aero).
