About the opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Quality Manager to lead our Quality Management function and ensure the highest standards of compliance across all aspects of our operations. This is a key leadership role focused on maintaining our Quality Management System, managing audits, and fostering a quality-first culture throughout the organisation.
You’ll work closely with senior leadership, production teams, and customers to maintain our reputation for exceptional quality and reliability.
Main duties
- Quality Leadership: Lead and develop the Quality team, ensuring effective delivery of all quality-related activities.
- Compliance & Auditing: Maintain and improve our Integrated Management System (IMS); manage external and internal audits to ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 14001, NADCAP and customer-specific requirements.
- Customer & Supplier Quality: Act as the primary point of contact for quality issues with customers and suppliers; oversee supplier quality assurance processes.
- Training & Culture: Promote a quality-first mindset across the company through coaching, training, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Monitor key quality metrics, identify trends, and provide clear reports to senior management.
- Documentation & Standards: Ensure all quality documentation, procedures, and records are accurate and accessible.
- Team Development: Mentor and support the Quality team to build a high-performing and engaged function.
Key requirements
Qualifications:
- Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field (or substantial industry experience).
- Recognised quality certifications (e.g., Lead Auditor ISO 9001/AS9100) desirable.
Experience:
- Extensive experience in a Quality Management or Senior Quality Engineering role within aerospace, defence, or high-precision manufacturing.
- Proven record of implementing and maintaining ISO 9001/AS9100 or equivalent quality systems.
- Experienced in leading audits and working with external certification bodies and customers.
Skills & Attributes:
