The Commis Chef is responsible for supporting the kitchen team in the preparation and presentation of high-quality food while maintaining excellent hygiene, food safety, and operational standards. Working closely with senior chefs, the role contributes to delivering exceptional dining experiences and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assisting senior chefs with the preparation and cooking of food to ensure high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Preparing ingredients, including washing, peeling, chopping, and measuring, according to recipes and kitchen requirements.
  • Maintaining consistency in food preparation while following portion control and presentation guidelines.
  • Ensuring all food is stored, handled, and labelled correctly in line with food safety regulations.
  • Assisting with stock rotation, inventory checks, and reducing food waste.
  • Following all health, safety, and hygiene procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Working effectively as part of the kitchen team to help deliver an excellent dining experience for guests.
About You:
  • Previous experience in a kitchen environment is desirable, although training will be provided for the right candidate.
  • Passion for food, cooking, and delivering high-quality dishes.
  • Positive attitude with a strong willingness to learn and develop within a professional kitchen.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Understanding of food hygiene and health and safety standards.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
