The Role
We are seeking a self-sufficient, high-impact Generalist UK SMID Analyst reporting directly to the CEO. In this role, there is "nowhere to hide"—you will have full accountability, immediate visibility, and the opportunity to shape our market presence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Flagship Publications: Take lead authorship of our widely read daily "Small Cap Feast," Friday Takeaway, and Monthly News.
- Corporate Research: Conduct proactive, detailed research on our retained corporate clients.
- Thematic Content: Author insightful thematic and sector-specific research pieces.
- Corporate Access: Attend company meetings and proactively identify non-house corporates for coverage.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a specialist looking to broaden their scope or an existing generalist with a demonstrable passion for the sub-£100m market cap sector.
Essential Requirements:
- Regulatory Status: Currently or previously FCA regulated (CF30/Certificated) with a clear record on the FCA Register.
- Degree-educated
- Professional qualifications: completed CISI (or equivalent) Regulations and Securities exams.
- Experience: 2+ years of equity research experience (buy-side or sell-side) covering a range of sectors.
- Client Facing: Proven track record interacting directly with company issuers and institutional investors.
- Technical Skills: Strong command of equity valuation models and complex financial analysis.
- Communication: Ability to dissect complex economic or sector themes and articulate them clearly to an institutional audience.
