The Opportunity
We are seeking a dynamic Senior Business Development Manager to spearhead growth and drive strategic new business development in our Bristol office. With our world‑leading digital products in technology and higher education we require a talented and tenacious hunter with the motivation to drive new business and take their career to the next level. You’ll initially operate as an individual contributor, building your pipeline and establishing client relationships, but will quickly take on a pod leadership role. This will entail heading your own small team of Business Development Executives and SDRs, driving revenue across exciting new brands and products in our expanding portfolio, and reporting directly to the Director of Commercial Revenue. The Day‑to‑day
- 360 New Business sales role managing sales cycles from prospecting new opportunities to closing high‑value business (and everything in between).
- Engage with senior decision makers, demonstrating credibility to hold discussions about strategy, industry insight and long‑term partnerships.
- Navigate multi‑stakeholder sales processes with multiple touchpoints and layers of approval, maintaining momentum throughout decision cycles.
- Employ advanced sales techniques including discovery‑led pitching and consultative selling, putting prospects first whilst demonstrating proven closing abilities.
- Utilise data‑driven market knowledge and strategic thinking to identify relevant clients in Higher Education and contribute to identifying new market segments and partnership opportunities.
- Team leadership, managing BDEs and working collaboratively with SDR support for additional appointment generation and personal pipeline development.
About You
- 5+ years relevant sales experience with a background in Education sales and ideally Paid Media/Higher Education/Tech/EdTech/Agency sectors.
- Proven track record of exceeding quotas and closing higher‑value, considered purchase solutions to risk‑averse buyers with multiple stakeholders.
- Relationship management expertise at senior levels with the gravitas to engage academics and senior decision makers.
- Demonstrated adaptability, with critical thinking skills to change strategy, overcome challenges and contribute strategic input to business development.
- Self‑motivated mentality with a relentless desire to win and willingness to coach and mentor junior team members.
