Requirements
- We need strong experience with Microsoft Azure in a hybrid enterprise environment, including identity integration, networking, virtual machines, governance and migration of on-premises services.
- We need advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365, Entra ID and multi-site, multi-domain Active Directory environments.
- We need strong Windows Server administration experience.
- We need networking expertise, including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs and next-generation firewalls.
- We need experience supporting secure infrastructure environments and applying infrastructure security best practices.
- We need working knowledge of backup, disaster recovery and business continuity processes.
- We need experience with infrastructure monitoring, troubleshooting and incident response.
- We need strong scripting ability in at least one language, such as Power Shell, Python or Bash.
- We need the ability to create clear technical documentation, procedures and standards.
- We need effective verbal and written communication skills.
- We need strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify practical and creative solutions.

Responsibilities
- We help deliver our data centre migration goals into Microsoft Azure.
- We take ownership of core infrastructure services, including Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Azure, LAN, firewalls, backup, virtualisation and storage.
- We strengthen infrastructure security and promote best practice across the environment as part of our ISO27001 readiness programme.
- We research, plan and implement infrastructure upgrades and replacement solutions, either independently or as part of a team.
- We administer VMware v Sphere infrastructure and enterprise storage platforms.
- We respond to alerts from network and system monitoring tools to minimise downtime and service impact.
- We administer backup and disaster recovery systems, including testing, documentation and improvement of recovery processes.
- We create and maintain internal documentation, procedures, processes and technical standards.
- We handle escalated issues from the IT helpdesk relating to core infrastructure services.
- We support infrastructure requirements for development and operational tooling, including CI/CD platforms where required.
- We contribute to infrastructure planning, lifecycle management, security improvement and cloud adoption initiatives.
- We occasionally travel to other Hybrid Software sites as required to support infrastructure migrations and upgrades.

We are Hybrid Software Helix, and we are seeking a Senior Infrastructure Systems Engineer to join our small internal IT department supporting our operating companies worldwide.
The role reports directly to our Chief Information Officer and is based in Cambourne, Cambridgeshire on a hybrid basis with three office days per week.
