A leading UK main contractor specializing in large-scale industrial and logistics developments seeks an experienced Construction Manager to support delivery of new-build industrial schemes across Newport & Gloucester. Typical projects valued between £10m and £80m.
As Construction Manager you will lead on-site delivery of major steel-frame industrial projects, manage subcontract packages, drive programme, quality and safety from groundworks through to handover, and report to the Project Manager.
Key Responsibilities- Lead day-to-day site operations across large industrial/logistics schemes
- Manage and coordinate multiple subcontract packages including groundworks, steel frame, cladding, M&E and externals
- Drive short-term programming and sequencing of works
- Take ownership of site health & safety, quality and programme performance
- Chair subcontractor meetings and daily coordination briefings
- Work closely with the Project, Commercial and Engineering teams to ensure successful project delivery
- Oversee inspections, snagging and sectional/final handovers
- Experience working for a main contractor in a site management/construction management role
- Proven background delivering industrial, logistics or large commercial new-build projects
- Demonstrable experience on steel-frame and envelope packages
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage large site teams and subcontractors
- Excellent knowledge of construction processes, HSEQ and programme control
- SMSTS, CSCS (Black/Gold) and First Aid
- £55,000–£70,000 basic salary (dependent on experience)
