We are seeking a Technical Account Director to lead and oversee high-value web accounts, with a primary focus on end-to-end web project delivery and some SEO crossover across high budget US/UK clients. This is a senior, client-facing role responsible for technical leadership, commercial oversight, and integrated digital delivery. You will project manage the end-to-end web development lifecycle while providing senior oversight across other integrated services. This role requires strong strategic thinking, commercial acumen, and technical confidence in communication with clients.
This role is great for someone delivering at a Senior Technical Account Manager level looking to step up, or in a similar role already that is still comfortable being tactical and hands-on in approach, as well as strategic.
Key Responsibilities- Web Leadership (Primary Focus)
- Own the full end-to-end web development lifecycle across multiple client accounts.
- Lead technical discovery and project scoping.
- Develop timelines, allocate development resources, and oversee delivery planning.
- Write, review, and present web tenders and proposals.
- Own Statements of Work, contracts, and onboarding processes.
- Lead design-to-development handovers and manage migration planning.
- Oversee QA, testing, and launch coordination.
- Manage website retainers and ongoing optimisation roadmaps.
- Oversee maintenance, bug resolution, and emergency support coordination.
- Manage annual web budgets exceeding £200k.
- Deliver complex technical audits and documentation where required.
- Provide senior oversight when required of SEO campaigns and performance.
- Ensure strong integration between Web services into SEO working with the SEO Manager.
- Support strategic growth planning across accounts.
- Contribute to AI tool adoption.
- Act as senior technical lead across key accounts (including US-based clients).
- Own client relationships from a technical and delivery standpoint.
- Lead new business technical input in pitches and proposals.
- Identify upsell and growth opportunities across services.
- Manage budgets, revenue oversight, and profitability considerations.
- Significant agency-side experience managing complex 6 figure budget web development projects.
- Proven ownership of the full web lifecycle from discovery through launch and ongoing support.
- Experience writing and pitching technical proposals and tenders.
- Strong commercial awareness with experience managing sizeable budgets.
- Senior client relationship management experience.
- Competent understanding of SEO principles and integrated digital delivery.
- Experience working with US clients.
- Experience delivering complex technical audits.
- Exposure to AI tools within marketing or digital environments.
- Technical literacy across development processes (no coding required, but confident engaging with developers).
- Strategic thinking across web and the integrated SEO & digital services.
- Strong web project and resource management capability.
