The firm is embarking on a strategically significant transformation initiative: the implementation of a Target Operating Model (TOM) for Global Support Functions. This initiative is designed to align operations with the firm's strategy. The project aims to deliver a consistent core service to partners and fee earners by prioritising the most value-added activities while enhancing effectiveness through simplification of the operating model and the removal of duplicated roles, activities, and tasks. The new model will underpin objectives across client growth, operational excellence, and commercial discipline. This initiative is central to the firm's client growth strategy and demands a disciplined approach to delivery, robust governance, and proactive management of organisational, data, and technology dependencies.
Job Overview
We are seeking a strategic and proactive Operating Model Lead to support our Transformational Programme. This role will play a critical part in supporting the successful delivery of a global operating model transformation within a professional services environment. The Operating Model Lead will work closely with senior stakeholders, a dedicated programme team, and wider stakeholders across multiple geographies.
Who you will work with
The role will work primarily with our Senior Executives and the Programme Team to design and deliver a global operating model.
What you will be responsible for
- Working in collaboration with the Senior Leadership and Programme to define and design the Global Operating Model in alignment with the firm's strategic objectives.
- Establishing and embedding the overall governance requirements, forums, and standards to monitor and deliver the operating model.
- Defining the performance framework for the operating model including KPIs, measurement approach, and maturity indicators.
- Setting overall standards and blueprints across taxonomy and high-level services and processes to ensure the enterprise to functional and local operating standards are consistent.
- Developing and mapping required business capabilities to deliver the designed operating model.
- Articulating and aligning all elements of the operating model including across technology, data, processes, organisation, and capabilities with a future-facing perspective.
- Partnering with the Service Design Lead to ensure service designs align with the defined TOM and service levels required to deliver the Global Operating Model.
- With the overall People Lead, translating the overall model into an appropriate organisational design including accountabilities, structures, roles, and requirements.
- Ensuring risk, control, and compliance requirements are built into the operating model and governance.
- Managing the operating model impact assessment, clearly defining the current and future operating model and change impact.
- Working in collaboration with stakeholders and programme members to define the overall roadmap and phasing of the operating model implementation.
- Designing and managing the overall version control and change management of the operating model, ensuring traceability and alignment with transformation phases and cycles.

- Proven track record in designing and implementing enterprise operating models within complex, global organisations.
- Significant experience in business transformation, organisational design, and governance frameworks.
- Strategic thinking with the ability to translate vision into actionable operating model designs.
- Strong background in process architecture and capability mapping at an enterprise level.
- Experience working across technology, data, and business functions to align operating models with digital and strategic objectives.
- Demonstrated ability to lead impact assessments and change adoption for large-scale transformations.
- Exposure to risk, compliance, and control frameworks within regulated environments.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement at senior leadership level, influencing decisions and driving alignment.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills to engage diverse stakeholders and drive consensus.
- Ability to manage roadmaps, versioning, and prioritisation in dynamic environments.
