We are now looking for an ambitious, driven, and highly motivated Assistant Club Manager to help lead the club, support the management team, and play a key role in driving business performance. This is not a traditional gym management role. We are looking for someone who thrives under pressure, embraces responsibility, and is motivated by achieving targets and delivering results.

The Role

As Assistant Club Manager, you will work closely with the General Manager and senior leadership team to oversee the daily operation of the club while helping drive membership growth, member retention, and overall club performance. You will be expected to lead from the front, set high standards, and take ownership of the business when required. The successful candidate will be confident managing staff, handling member concerns, generating leads, converting memberships, and ensuring the club consistently delivers an outstanding member experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day management and operation of the club
  • Lead and motivate the team to achieve sales, retention, and service targets
  • Generate and convert membership leads through proactive outreach and follow-up
  • Conduct membership consultations, tours, and sales presentations
  • Monitor and drive KPI performance across the club
  • Always ensure exceptional member service and engagement
  • Maintain high operational standards, cleanliness, and health & safety compliance
  • Manage staff performance and hold team members accountable
  • Resolve member concerns professionally and efficiently
  • Support marketing initiatives, local partnerships, events, and community engagement
  • Take ownership of the club in the absence of senior management

What We're Looking For

  • Previous management or supervisory experience within the fitness, leisure, hospitality, or sales industry
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and KPIs
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Self‑motivated and capable of working independently
  • Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure
  • Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills
  • High levels of accountability and ownership
  • Flexible availability including evenings and weekends
  • Previous experience within a gym or fitness environment
  • Knowledge of membership sales and retention strategies
  • Understanding of fitness products, classes, and training services
  • Experience using CRM and membership management systems
